had my clinic with Prof Gendeh today...we were in the clinic straight since 10am till 3.45pm without having our lunch or pray...i`m starving, tired but somehow relieved...i`ve done my assessment for ENT posting ( if its consider as an assessment) but Prof Gendeh said its will b given marks. i was assigned to clerk a patient and present the history. i had a acute on chronic rhinosinusitis patient who plan for septoplasty after fail medical treatment. i did quite ok i guess.

secondly, since prof Gendeh is a specialist in rhinorology so after d clinic i asked him to scope my nose juz for a second opinion after what i found out yesterday. he did the scope, n yes, my DNS is still dat bad but he said dat it is not that severe and i did not need surgery at this moment. it is not emergency. i`m quite relieved to hear that. he said he will scope me back after 3 months or 6 months to see the progression. he change my medication clarytine to Aerius ( desloratadine) which he claims to be better.

Deviation Nasal Septum (DNS)

i had my ENT clinic session today...i joined dr iqbal clinic...he`s really a nice MO. he teach us, asked questions, and showed findings in patients to us...as we were about to finish, he asked whether we have any questions....

suddenly i feel d urge to ask him about my 'resdung' problem i`ve been having for years and thought it was an ordinary rhinitis. i also asked his permission to scope me...so he asked d other stdnts to take hstory frm me...

my complaint was having running nose especially during morning or in aircond or cold places. i also have nasal obstructions once a while and snores during sleep based on my friends n families. apart from that i also complaint of itchiness at the nose area and eyes area, sneezing attacks and clearing throat. sometimes i will feel itchiness in d ear as well as headacheif it was so severe. otherwise, i have no facial pain or epistaxis. i also did not have fever or chronic cough. i have no allergic to food or asthma. my 2 brothers have the smae problems and both of them have childhood asthma. this is my first visit to doctor about my problem.

then from my hx, my provisional dx is vasomotor rhinitis. so moved on to the examination of d nose, dr asked sarah to do inspection on my nose and my findings was a crest or a line on my nose most probably due to rubbing my nose upwards which is one of sign of rhinitis. then marina took the challenges to do the anterior rhinoplasty by inserting thudicum inside my nose. initially she started by doing the cold spatula test n it was fairly normal. on her findings, there is no obvious deformities and confirm by the dr. by throat examination, there was only mild tonsilitis and dr said my airway seem fine.

and the moment of truth was when the dr did the nasal scope to me, to my surprised, i have a DEVIATED NASAL SEPTUM (DNS) and it is quite severe as it is about to obstruct, and the dr can not pass through the scope futher more to examine my larynx. it is more prominent on left side. and right after taking out d scope the dr told me that i need to do SEPTOPLASTY! what?? oh no...i do want to do surgery...so the dr gave me a nasal spray ( a beclamethasone) as well as clarityne (loratadine) and give me a TCA 3 months. if there is no improvement or worsening (plz dont) by then maybe i need to do appropriate intervention...

the dr ask whether i had any trauma or accident previously but as far as i can remember, i did not encounter such events. my feeling is actually mixed up..i`m quite worried but at the same time relieved i did the scope n find out the truth. i hope everything will b fine.

i did tell my problems to some of my friends and actually there are a few of my friends who have the same problems and some of them even had a polyp removal n still well n healthy without any complications...

so dear friends, whoever reading this, if u had encounter such symptoms, do seek for futher investigations. who knows u might as well as having d same problem as me!

labour day activities

basically, dis is kinda retrospective clerking history...

as early as 9.10am on a public holiday, i`ve headed 2 d department of othorinolaryngology or well known as ENT department..as we had a replacement clas by Dr razif regarding epixtasia n head & neck tumour...basically when i arrived around 9.18am i was d 3rd 2 arrive...so around 9.21am Dr Razif went in and prepare for the presentation. he quite surprise there`s still alot of us were not there n ask us 2 remind our frens. he said that, "9.30am sharp i`ll start d class. n plz come 5-10mins earlier next time"..most of d stdnts reach sharp 9.30-9.31am but i noe he got a point there cause the late comers will take another 1-2mins extra 2 settle themselves...n d latest enter d room around 9.50am..oh my2..what kind of attitude is that man?

i guess dis is what d phenomena we always called it 'janji melayu'...but actually d late comers also include few chinese..so actually dis is Malaysian habit..we tend to take it lightly when it takes 2 time...for me myself...if there`s a lecturer or a class...i always make a habit 2 reach at least 5 mins early...but my bad habit is when it involves program meeting or stdy group i always reach on time or a bit late..let say d stdy group suppose 2 start at 9pm...only by 9pm i went out frm my room n will take me another 2-3mins..so did u c my point here.. ireally need 2 improve on that..

ok enough bout that...after d 2hours lecture... around 2pm papa n mama fetch me, n we headed 2 Putrajaya for a lunch in Tokngah`s house..i`ve been starving all morning to eat a lot..and it really worth...

then only d lunch come into picture, byk k makanan tokngah n tenon masak, we had daging dendeng yg sgt sedap n rangup, daging goreng, kari ikan tenggiri, ikang tenggiri asam pedas, ikan kerisi dan cencaru goreng, sayur kacang goreng







selepas berehat2 sketika then dis kuih plak dihidangkan...it looks like karipap but it is not...itu namanye 'TEMOSA' kalu org2 pantai timur tau la...bezanye ngn karipap..inti die ialah kelapa n ikan...ala2 cm serunding ikan sket2 la...sedap..seriously... kuantan cr temosa tau...n then ade gak bubur pulut hitam tp x amek gmbr coz cm not my fav sgt..curik kaklong nadia je pnya sket. n tokngah pun ade tambah goreng mihun..but by dis time my stomach rasa da nak pecah..so curik rasa sket je..da x larat nk bgn...



then sesi mengambil2 gmbr...
